Smoke forecast, September 4

Fire
Smoke from three wildfires are impacting the forecast area:
White River fire, Mt Hood NF – 17,379 acres (+1023 acres)
Lionshead Fire, Warm Springs Agency – 9,392 acres (+774
acres) Beachie Creek Fire, Willamette NF – 200 acres (+150
acres) Hot temperatures and dry weather will continue through
the weekend. Winds will be light and terrain driven this
morning, breezy NW winds are expected this afternoon and
evening. The combination of dry fuels and hot and windy
conditions will result in another day of problematic fire
behavior and large acre growth at uncontained wildfires.
Smoke
Generally, hazy conditions this morning will be slow to clear as
high pressure and light winds dominate the weather pattern.
Late this afternoon and evening, northwest winds in central
Oregon will move wildfire smoke into the western portion of
the forecast area. Periods of USG air quality are possible this
evening and overnight in Sisters, Redmond, Prineville, and
Bend.
