Fire Crews continue to work on existing fires while new starts are reported

Firefighters made excellent progress on the Sheep Mountain Fire near Mitchell, Oregon today, holding the line and beginning to mop up. The fire was mapped today and is 70 acres. Handcrews will continue to work with the type 3 helicopter to find and put out hotspots near the line.

The Grange Fire near Clarno continues to hold at 100 acres.

Eight new wildfires have been reported so far today with additional lightning bringing the potential for more. Crews have held the new starts to less than an acre and will continue to be ready for any new wildfires.
